1- How long have you been blogging?

I started this year, but added to my blog some of my old articles.

November 2008

2- How many hours per day do you dedicate to the blog?

An average of an hour per day. It includes posting and reading new posts on blogs I follow.

It all depends, but I’d say about an hour on a regular day, more when we’re posting

3- Has it been worth it so far?

Of course, most of my entourage didn't know that I write. (I guess me too)

Definitely: We have me so many wonderful people, got in touch with interesting bloggers, and improved our research and writing skills

4- How many page views does your blog get daily?

On average around 20.

On average, about 70 per day

5- How many blogs do you have or write for currently?

Currently one, but I have a Plan/Dream for something related to Lebanese authors. I also write occasionally for NowLebanon Website, Jasad Magazine and Annahar Newspaper.

Just the one J Paola used to blog for the ecumenical women at the UN blog

6- How many hours do you dedicate to them every day?

I am a moody person when it comes to writing. Just can’t tell when and where and what to write about.  I suddenly feel the moment, and I write about it on paper. Few writings I publish and others I keep aside.

1h

7- Do you think one needs to post daily to be successful?

Well I think writing is an Art, it can't be a job. So my answer is definitely NO.

Depends on the type of blog you’re managing: in the case of Café Thawra, posting everyday would be a hectic full time job. We need time to research the articles, bicker between one another about the issue, write and post. If you’re running a diary type of blog, then posting every day is doable.

8- Is there an ideal posting frequency?

I wish I knew. I am like a mirror; people don’t look at it all the time, But only when in need. I write what they need to remember and see. So to all my beloved readers I say: "meet me halfway".

We’d say about two posts a week

9- What is the biggest blogging mistake you did?

None yet, give me more time…

Going on Blogger. We should have used Wordpress to start with, and we’re now to lazy/busy to change it

10- What is the biggest mistake you see in blog designs?

Usually I look for content. I forgive bad design as long as the blog words can make me see beyond pictures, colors and fonts.

As we’re both non design experts, we’ll leave the answer to this question to people who actually know what they’re talking about J

11- Twitter is a distraction or a good promotional tool?

A little bit of both, Just like a knife…. Or Love J

Both, it started as a good promotional tool, and now it’s a huge distraction *sighs *

12- Do you think that any professional should have a blog?

Well I think professional means he is already involved in a blog.

Not necessarily. For some professionals a website might be better. Blogs are most useful for journalists, designers, photographers and non profit organizations are they’re cost effective, interactive and user friendly.

13- If you could give an advice for a novice blogger, what would it be?

Ask when in doubt, the world is full with good hearted people.

If you’re not writing a diary type of blog, always back up what you’re saying. The people who read your blog deserve to receive quality information. Be passionate about what you’re writing about, if you enjoy what you’re doing, chances are, your audience will too!

14- What is the secret of your success, expressed in one word?

Modesty

We’ll get back to you when we’re successful J

15- If you could write a post on any blog in the world, which one would you pick?

Gebran Kahlil Gebran, but I think it is too late. Second choice Milan Kundera but I don't know if he has a blog.

Paola: The Sartorialist. I have a soft spot for fashion, and love what he does

Joe: Electronic Intifada, as it’s such a powerful voice for the Palestinian People
