Night Hike

I was on a Night Hike yesterday, organised by ProMax Adventures,  we went to " Ghebet El Rehben" in Baabda.

Mr. Paul Abi Rached , President of T.E.R.R.E. LIBAN (an independent Lebanese NGO devoted to the creation and implementation of environmental education within Lebanon),  was leading the way and giving us information about the forest, the kind of plants and birds you can find there, and some astrology information.

The Forest of Baabda is the only natural green area in the Greater Beirut, you can find more than 20 species of trees and shrubs and hundreds of wildflowers.

According to Dr. Ghassan Jaradi, the location of the forest is very important for the study of birds, migratory or locals. One of his studies showed that 189 species of birds are present in the forest.

During the healthy path of the forest, you can see some left overs of old rails

You can also find some signs to stay calm and not disturb the animals

The Hike lasted for about 45minutes, and it was scheduled to go afterwards have a cocktail at Tutti Frutti - Achrafieh Branch.
