"Ain't No Smoking" is a local campaign organized by the Rotaract Clubs of Sahel Metn, Beirut and Beirut Metropolitan, promoting non-smoking habits and a tobacco-free environment in public places across Lebanon.

Due to the huge success of our Rotaract Non-Smoking Campaign which took place in Gemmayze on Thursday, February 19th 2009, many people and supporters asked us to reorganize a tobacco free night in Gemmayze, and try making it a weekly basis event.

Several pubs and restaurants already started to have a Non-Smoking Night once a week and we are looking forward to seeing most of the pubs doing so.

Therefore, the Rotaract Clubs of Beirut, Sahel Metn and Beirut Metropolitan will be reorganizing a similar campaign on Wednesday, October 28th 2009.

The purpose of this campaign is to:

a) Allow non-smokers to have ONE night in Gemmayze as a tobacco free environment;
b) Generate media attention on the need of having tobacco free nights in Beirut’s restaurants and pubs;
c) Stimulate decision makers on the urgency of promoting non-smoking habits and policies in Lebanon.
