Seeqnce, Lebanon's first
internet startup accelerator, and Cedrus
Ventures, are organizing a startup competition during the month of November 2011.
The Execution brings together developers, designers, and business persons from across the country to form teams, train and compete on executing their business
ideas. The Competition is open to all professionals, freelancers, and students.
The participants will be between 24 and 48 select individuals who exhibit entrepreneurship traits in the Preparation Phase. The participants will form 6 to 12
teams, each team tackling one idea throughout The Execution to form a startup. The winning team's startup will receive valuable prizes worth over $10,000 and a convertible note investment [from
Cedrus Ventures] along with expert advisory [from Seeqnce] to help them mature the product over the course of 3 months.
The Registration deadline was on November 9 and the Execution started on November
10, with the preparation part. 50 people attended, Ideas were submitted and 11 teams were formed.
Now things are heating up, and on Monday November 14 the training part will start with
workshops during 4 days, each day will be covering a different topic:

Day 1: Business: business models, market analysis, investment strategies, etc.

Day 2: Product: minimum viable product, design thinking, rapid prototyping, user experience, etc. [in
talks with IDEO & Eric Ries]

Day 3: Marketing: mainstream marketing strategies, social media marketing, communications and honing
the message, etc.

Day 4: Team: teamwork, entrepreneurial mindset, leadership, selling, etc...
The workshops will be followed by a Bootcamp week-end (November 18-20), teams will have to develop a working prototype of their product within 48 hours and at the end of
the week-end, the winning team will be selected.
The winning team will be the one that executed best their web or mobile application business
idea.
And on November
25, "The Execution" will end with a party announcing the winning team.
